2 of my favorite sunglasses brands

While in other countries the temperature is dropping as they head into the winter months, over here in the Philippines it's as hot as ever. Though it normally isn't that hot around this time of year, the El NiƱo weather pattern has kept the sun shining bright and so glaringly happy that it's hard to leave the house without a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes.

Hey guys!

I know it's been a while since my last post. October was a really hectic month that just plowed right through without leaving me anytime to get personal things done. But anyway, today I'd like to share with you two of my favorite sunglasses brands.

In recent years, I would often go for cheap sunglasses (that don't really have good quality) since I was always afraid of losing or breaking an expensive pair of sunglasses. I've made do with what I could find in random department stores until I discovered Sunnies Studios. Since visiting their store and seeing their many (affordable!) and cute designs, I haven't gone back to those cheap sunglasses since. I bought the Corey design and I absolutely love it! My boyfriend also owns a pair of their Robbie shades. Even my sister and her boyfriend love this brand (though I'm not quite sure which design they use).

We bought ours at their stall in Robinsons Magnolia (whose staff were super friendly! <3). They have a whole list of their stores on their Facebook about page which I'll link here.

You can also buy these shades online through Zalora. I was even able to find both the Corey and Robbie designs which I will link below for anyone interested:

Another good brand for sunglasses that I would recommend is Oakley. If you're looking for a hardcore pair of sunglasses to use while doing outdoorsy activities, or if you just want a pair that wont easily get damaged, this is the brand for you.

I used to have a pair that I really really loved but I can't, for the life of me, find them! :( It breaks my heart since they are pricier than most sunglasses and they were my favorite. Losing them was actually why I started buying cheap sunglasses in the first place; I couldn't cope with the loss lol.

I do remember buying my pair at Greenbelt, but you can also buy Oakley over at Zalora (the glory of online shopping really). Check out ZALORA's collection of unisex Oakley shades over at their website :)

I'm really liking their Enduro design and the Frogskins one. No, I don't care if they're supposedly male designs, I think I could work them ;)

What are your favorite brands of sunglasses? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading :)

Empties: 2015 Body Products

Hi Everyone!

Continuing from where I left off with the last Empties post, here are the body products I was able to use up so far.

1. The Body Shop Spa Wisdom Morocco (Black Olive and Argan Oil Scrub) - I've had this for AGES. It was one of the first products I got from The Body Shop. I loved this product so much I avoided using it unless I had a special occasion. I have a love/hate relationship with the smell, but darn does this thing work well. No matter how many scrubs I've tried, nothing compares.

2. Human Nature Hand and Foot Salve (Strawberry) - I loved the smell of this, it really smelled like fresh strawberries! It did a pretty good job of moisturizing my hands and feet, but tended to become a bit sticky if not rubbed in well. It's all natural so you would also need to pay attention to the expiration date. (Warning: it stinks when expired)

3. Watsons Sakura Bella Hand and Body Lotion - I didn't like this much as the smell was faint and the consistency too watery for me. Won't be repurchasing.

4. Olay Body Wash (Age Defying - Revitalizing) - This is one of the BEST body washes I have ever tried. You only need a little for your whole body and it doesn't dry your skin out. It smells good and makes you feel clean. I cannot say enough good things about this and I do look forward to trying more variants. (I posted quick review on another Olay body wash here)

5. Body Treats Anti Bacterial Hand Soap (Sweet Pea) - This was a lovely smelling hand soap. The only thing I did not like about this was the packaging. I always prefer a pump for hand soap, rather than a normal bottle. I don't want to have to hold the bottle; my hands are dirty!

6. Dove Go Fresh Nourishing Body Wash (Energize - Grapefruit & Lemongrass) -  I had very high hopes for this product as it was from Dove and I really like their shampoo. I was disappointed to discover that I had to use a lot of product to make it lather well :( The scent was very invigorating though.

7. Marks and Spencer Hand and Body  Lotion (White Peach and Almond) - This is an ancient bottle of my favorite scent from Marks & Spencer. It was a gift from my godparents from god knows when. I had actually forgotten I had it until I found it at the very back of my dresser cabinet. I love love love the scent of this and was surprised to find that the consistency hadn't changed so I used what was left on my hands (okay maybe eww because it's old but don't judge me k? hahaha). This lotion - as with other lotions from this brand - absorbs well into the skin. The scent lingers for quite some time too! My sister already bought me another bottle of this <3

8. Watsons Exfoliating Body Scrub (Cucumber Melon) - If I were to base my review of this on scent alone, this is awesome. It smells so refreshing and clean and urgh - I love it. As a scrub though, I don't think it did much for me. I needed to use a lot of product to get a decent amount of scrubbies to scrub with (do you get me), so I ended up finishing this pretty quickly. I would buy this maybe just for my hands or something, but for a full body scrub I'd just go with Body Shop.

That's it for this post! I'll be back next time with the last empties post I have lined up - make up! :) Thank you for reading~

A lovely surprise from BDJ and Olay Philippines~

Hi everyone!

Early last week I was surprised at work with a package from BDJ, and I was very excited to see that it was a little bag with goodies from Olay! (yes, I totally rhymed)

Now, I have always been a fan of Olay products as I use their body washes, moisturizers and eye creams. You can even view one of my recent empties posts wherein I used up my favorite moisturizer ;)

The little bag contained a full size of their Deep Moisture Body Wash which I was so so excited to try since I loved their Age Defying Moisturizing Body Wash (empties on that coming up soon). It also came with a sample size of their Total Effects Day Cream.

I'm a total body wash junkie; I've tried so many body washes - yet so far nothing comes close to the quality of Olay! Their Deep Moisture Body Wash lathers so well, even better than some more expensive body washes. A pea size amount was enough for my whole body, which means that 200ml will last quite a while. Using this also left my skin feeling super smooth and clean at the same time. I felt like I didn't need to put lotion anymore, which is really something since my skin (especially my legs) tends to get a bit dry. And did I mention the scent? I just can't get over how good this smells! It's like a clean fruity floral scent that's so feminine and amazing!

I'm no stranger to the Total Effects line from Olay since I have been using their eye cream for a while, but I had never tried the day cream before now. I was surprised to find that the Total Effects Day Cream had a scent, since the Olay moisturizer I use (All in One Fairness Day Cream) does not have a strong scent. Not complaining though, as it smells really nice (slightly powdery but not overwhelmingly so) and scented products do not bother me. This day cream did not disappoint as it absorbed into my skin quickly and left no sticky or oily feeling at all. My face was smooth to touch and felt very moisturized. The SPF factor is always a plus and the fact that this cream also has anti-ageing properties? Sure A+ rating in my book.

Overall, I am very very happy with these products and will definitely go out to purchase these myself when I run out. Thank you to BDJ and Olay for the chance for me to "Be my Best Beautiful"!

Empties: 2015 Hair Products

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to part two of my empties post series! This week will feature hair products I used up. I have a lot since I was trying to get rid of a lot of my half used bottles. I refused to buy anything new until I finished up some old stuff! I am pretty proud of myself hihi :)

1. Samples of Hana Shampoo (Soft and Silky and Anti Hairfall) - loved this especially the Soft and Silky variant
2. Sample of an old Kerastase Hair Mask (Nutri - Thermique) - this is an old mask my office mate gave to me that I forgot existed. I loved this, does anyone know if it's still available? I cant find it :(
3. Sample of an old L'oreal Hair Mask (Liss Ultime) - another from that office mate, I didn't like this as much as the Kerastase one.
4. Pantene Pro - V Silky Smooth Care Daily Treatment - this is another old bottle from the time this was limited edition and I hoarded. I love this, it rescues my hair when it becomes super dry and frizzy. It's too strong for my hair to be used everyday, so I only use when necessary.
5. Pantene Pro - V Shampoo (Total Damage Care) - I liked this, but it did not do anything miraculous for my hair. I used this prior to my haircut, when I had long hair that hadn't been cut in two years.
5. Syoss Shampoo (Anti - Dandruff) - I had problems with an itchy scalp, yet also wanted to try this new shampoo I seemed to see everywhere! It was definitely nowhere near good ol' Nizoral (what was I expecting really) and seemed to make my dandruff worse if I used it everyday! I stuck it out just to finish it. Not buying this again sadly :(
6. Syoss Shampoo (Repair) - This also did not do anything miraculous for my dry hair, but did not give me an itchy scalp. Pretty decent shampoo.
7. Celeteque Hair and Scalp Care Clarifying Shampoo - I love this. I use it once a week to really clean my hair of residue and gunk from the whole week. It makes my hair feel so clean and so light! Definitely keeps the hair healthy and I strongly recommend this product :)
8. Hana Shampoo (Soft and Silky) - I loved the sample so much that I caved and bought the whole bottle! My whole family loves this, it makes your hair so soft and smooth. As a bonus, it smells great too!

Whew! That was quite the list. I still have more to come! Stay tuned :)

Empties: 2015 Face Products

Hi Everyone!

Apparently I used up a lot of products since my last empties post because my little empties bag was overflowing already! So I'm back with another empties post :)

As there are a lot of products to talk about, I'll be splitting the post up into a series of four.

For this week, I'll do face products. Let's jump right into it!

1. Watsons Round Puffs - My go-to cotton pads. I've mentioned these so many times already, I'm sure you don't want to hear about it anymore :p

2. Silk Secrets Organics (Apricot) - Another long time favorite. They're cheap and they work. I use this to remove make up swatches and clean my face on days I don't wear much makeup.

3. Etude House Happy Teatime Cleansing Foam (Green Tea) - I bought this so long ago I can't even remember when! Heck, I don't think they even sell this anymore (do they?). I liked this cleanser since it made my face feel really clean and it smelled like green tea It was also really affordable. It took my ages to use this up and if Etude still sells this I would definitely repurchase.

4. Bifiesta Cleansing Lotion (Moist) - With all the hype around Bioderma, I was eager to try any cleaning water product. I tried this and fell in love. It removes make up completely and easily, and does not hurt my eyes. The smell reminds me of coconuts :)

5. Watsons Nose Pore Strips (Hawaiian Volcanic Ash) - Old favorite again. I love these nose strips. Best ones for me.

6. L'oreal Revitalift Eye Cream - This product was a pretty thick formula compared to other eye creams I've tried. It felt more moisturizing and did seem to minimize the lines I have around my eyes.

7. Celeteque Alcohol Free Toner (Hydration) - I like to use this when my skin is feeling dry. I definitely feel that it hydrates my skin, or at least makes my moisturizer work a little better.

8. Olay All in One Fairness Day Cream - I finished both the 20g and 40g bottles, so I think you can tell how much I love this product! :) It's a very good moisturizer that hydrates without leaving your face feeling extremely sticky. It is water based so it leaves a cooling effect when you put it on. I highly recommend this product! I even included it on my Reeco Profile! (I'll explain more about Reeco below).

9. Systema Tooth and Gum Care Active Toothpaste - I got this as a sample from somewhere I can't remember. It was nice and minty. Cleaned my teeth. Toothpaste isn't exciting haha!

10. Garnier Light Intensive Brightening Scrub - I believe I got this from a BDJ box from long ago, I only finished it up this year! It was a great cleanser and I loved using this at the end of the day to wash my face. My skin always looked brighter after I used it.

11. The Body Shop  Eau de Toilette (Japanese Cherry Blossom) - Okay, so this isn't really a face product and I'm not sure why I included it in the picture lol. This is my favorite perfume ever. I would call it my signature scent. This is a really old bottle (they've already changed the packaging) and I only used it up now because I keep saving it! It has a soft flowery scent with a subtle powedery hint. I fail at scent descriptions. I've already bought another bottle :) Love love love this!!

I think I did a pretty good job of clearing out old products that I had, a trend that will continue throughout this empties series :D I'm very proud of myself!

My next post about the hair products that I've used up. Please look out for it :) Thank you for reading!

* Reeco is a website that features product recommendations. It's a great place to check out what other people like and recommend. It's kind of like reading a blog, but you can seek out recommendations from so many other people  - all in one place. You can even follow other people to see what products they post. You can read more about them through their website.

How I: Fix melted lipstick

Hi Everyone!

Have you ever experienced twisting up your favorite tube of lipstick, only to find that it has either melted in the heat, or broken for some reason? Have you ever felt the devastation of having to throw away an otherwise perfectly good lipstick?

Well, I have. Around a year ago, a few of my lipsticks melted in the heat of last summer. I was able to document how I salvaged them.

If you're interested to see how I saved my melted lipsticks, keep on reading! :)
